
General Information
I have had a variety of experience in both the public and private sector. I have taught at every level of education from kindergarten to college. In addition, I have developed and conducted workshops for teachers, administrators, students, board members, business persons, churches and homemakers. Besides teaching, my public sector work has included business manager, secondary principal, superintendent of schools and state mathematics consultant. My private sector experiences beyond the workshops have included insurance/real estate sales, agency trainer, director of market research, executive searches, management negotiator for numerous school districts, salary/job description studies for city government, Christian editor and editor/publisher of two Christian magazines. I went through PeaceMakers training in Ohio for a local church, have conducted training in this process and am finalizing a book on Political Peacemaking.
Family
My wife, Ardith, and I were married February 16, 1991, and lived on my family's farm south of Ellston (1/2 mile east of Blackmore Corner). in
93 we moved to Tennessee before returning to Ringgold County in 2010. We each have two children and between us have 11 grandkids and one great grandson. For years we enjoyed singing and had a “music ministry” for a number of years.
Hobbies and Interests
Spectator sports (used to play); attending musicals; attending, promoting and/or participating in gospel concerts; songwriting; developing and conducting success workshops; reading; writing; painting/drawing; photography; embroidery digitizing; carpentry; developing The Green Cap Society—an environmental organization that I hope to help get off the ground.
